Event seating has an exceptional way of transforming a venue. It can make your event space feel intimate, lavish, and even out of this world!
Table arrangements are equally as important as your linen selection, centerpieces, lighting, and table settings. But how do you know what style is right for your event? That’s where Events by L comes in.
Rounds
Round tables are probably the most common style of seating that you find at weddings and events. This is a very traditional route to take and often venues carry them in house as well as standard linens.
Perks of Round Table Seating:
- Budget Friendly Option
- Depending on size, each table can fit 8-10 guests comfortably
- Create a nice flow in the space and allow for mingling with ease
- Offers an array of vantage points throughout the event space
- Different sized rounds can be incorporated to add a modern flair
- Allows for easy guest interaction among the tables
Long Tables
One look that we are seeing more and more of are long tables with family style seating. Farm tables have been an extremely popular trend with this style. It’s a wonderful way to provide an intimate feeling perfect for a smaller wedding or event. We use this style a lot in destination weddings, pop up weddings, dinner parties, and other intimate social events.
We love the ethereal look and feel this imbibes, especially paired with long celestial garlands or floral arrangements adorned with candles sprinkled down the center of the table. Swoon!
Perks of Long Table Seating:
- Tremendous for smaller weddings and events
- Can be very warm and romantic
- Wonderful for those wanting to create an exclusive tablescape for their guests to enjoy and remember
- Great for guest interaction and intimate, family style aesthetics
Things to Consider:
- These are not standard tables most venues carry. While you wouldn’t have to order as many (if any) linens to cover them, you may have to order in all of the tables. If you are hosting a large guest list, this option can take a large chunk out of the budget.
- No shows, or unexpected guests will throw everything off with seats that are left vacant (Unless you have Events by L on your team and they have already planned for such an occasion. Wink!)
- Guests will have a limited amount of exchange with one another
- If you are considering a buffet style menu, or food stations – this may not be the style for you. Two words: Traffic Jam!
Square Tables
Square tables offer a refreshing alternative to all of the other looks. You may have seen this look used on the head table at a wedding, or at corporate events.
Perks of Square Tables
- Guests can easily converse with every single guest at their table.
- Many point of views throughout the venue
- Photos look very balanced and captivating, especially aerial shots
- It’s very rare and can be very dramatic
Things to Consider:
- Like the long tables, these are not standard tables. Linens would be an extra cost as well as table rentals.
- They typically only seat 8 people per table
